UKERNA Approval

Linn Barringer Limited received approval from UKERNA to register and operate .gov.uk and .ac.uk domain name and web sites.
Note: UKERNA (United Kingdom Education and Research Networking Association) manages the operation and development of JANET (Joint Academic NETwork) on behalf of JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) for the UK Further and Higher Education Funding Councils. JISC also works in partnership with the Research Councils.
UKERNA is government funded, with the primary aim of providing and developing a network infrastructure that meets the needs of the education and research communities, and is the "naming authority" for .gov.uk and .ac.uk domains - in the same way that Nominet is the naming authority for commercial .co.uk and other domains in the UK
